Mantra

I was practicing yoga from home when one of my yoga teachers who eventually certified me said something along the lines of, “Breathe in a way thats sweet.” And from that moment, the words came to me:

Breathe so sweetly, move so sweetly.

In yoga, you learn to connect first to the breath and then to the body. As you begin breathing and moving consciously — whether on the mat or in everyday life — with more intention, everything becomes sweeter. There is a softness to it.

This mantra has now become part of my life and is now integrated into my book. To me, breathe so sweetly is a reminder of how powerful the breath is. It’s an invitation to connect to your breath, hear its sound, and return to the present moment. When life feels emotional or messy, it reminds you that your breath is still with you. Life can feel stressful, overwhelming, and at times you feel disconnected — from your thoughts, your body, or even in life itself. During those moments, you often do not realize how shallow or short your breath has become. This mantra is a gentle reminder to return to.

In moments when you need more vitality, space, or simply a sigh of relief, your breath carries you through. And the more often you return to it, the sweeter the breath becomes. The sweeter life begins to feel.

When you are not used to moving your body, and then you do, it feels good. Yoga teaches you to move in ways that aren’t habitual, creating space, release, and flexibly within the body. But this doesn’t only happen on the mat. For example, after sitting all day, you stand up and stretch — that is a sweet moment. As you become more aware of your body, you naturally begin moving in ways that feel good. Even dancing, walking in nature, or simply moving with more awareness allows the body to release tension and emotion. The body feels freer. Moving so sweetly brings you back into your body and back into the present moment.

By connecting more regulary to your breath and body, you create space to reconnect with yourself and your life in ways that feel sweet. A gentle reminder to move through life with more softness, intention, grace, and awareness. Over time, it becomes a way of being.
